Luxury Bespoke Media Wall, Bar & Wine Storage

North London | Project Value: £10,000–£22,000

Project Overview

We were approached by a North London homeowner to design and manufacture a fully bespoke, built-in media wall that would elevate their living space while seamlessly integrating a custom bar and dedicated wine storage.

The brief required a solution that combined practical storage, refined detailing and architectural presence, delivering a single, cohesive feature rather than multiple standalone elements.

The Brief

The client wanted to:

  • Create a high-end focal point within the living room
  • Incorporate a media wall, bar and wine storage into one unified design
  • Maximise storage without compromising visual balance
  • Achieve a furniture-like, built-in finish aligned with the rest of the home

This was a design-led, made-to-measure project, with a clear focus on quality, longevity and detail.

Design Challenges & Our Approach

During the design development phase, we worked closely with the client to refine the layout and improve both functionality and long-term usability.

Optimising the Corner Layout

Rather than leaving the corner underutilised, we proposed extending the cabinetry into an L-shaped configuration, incorporating a closed corner section with doors. This approach:

  • Maximised usable storage
  • Created a continuous, architectural flow across the wall
  • Maintained a clean, uninterrupted visual line

Improving Everyday Functionality

We recommended replacing lower open shelving with deep drawers, offering significantly more practical storage for day-to-day use while keeping the elevation visually calm and uncluttered.

Creating a Furniture-Like Aesthetic

To elevate the piece beyond standard cabinetry, the design was structured in a dresser-style composition, including:

  • Deep base drawers for concealed storage
  • A sideboard-style oak veneered worktop forming the bar area
  • Raised wall cabinetry to introduce visual breathing space while maintaining closed storage

Refined Detailing

Drawing on our experience with luxury built-in joinery, we avoided adjustable shelf systems where possible. Fixed shelf positions were designed into the unit to eliminate visible shelf holes, ensuring a clean, refined finish throughout.

The Final Solution

The completed installation delivers a highly refined, bespoke media wall that brings together multiple functions within one seamless, architectural feature.

The design includes:

  • Central built-in media section with concealed storage
  • Custom bar area with oak-veneered worktop
  • Integrated bespoke wine rack as a functional design feature
  • Deep lower drawers for practical everyday storage
  • Raised upper cabinetry for a balanced, furniture-like appearance
  • A closed corner unit forming a continuous L-shaped layout

The result is a timeless, built-in solution that enhances the room both visually and functionally.
